Asparagus - one of the first tastes of spring. When asparagus come into season in Alberta we catch ourselves eating them with nearly every meal - when harvested so close to home and so fresh, the taste is something so special. In this class we will work together to create several asparagus recipes including the most delicious asparagus soup, asparagus quiche, asparagus with hollandaise and more. We will talk about this special perennial plant - how it's grown, and what makes it so special. Did you know it takes five years to establish an asparagus plant? -- Yes, that means you can't harvest from a new plant for five whole seasons! Included in this class is the hands on class with instruction, a recipe pack with bonus asparagus recipes, dinner with wine and a pound of fresh asparagus to take home.
