How did it get to be 4am?

Missed last night’s blog post, but in actual fact (as Tim would say), the blog would have been dated January 25th because we were up until 4am. Nicole kept asking how it got to be 4, and she woke up asking me the same question this morning. I have no idea how it happened, but it was so much fun. Denise, Mary, Nicole, Hannah and I hung out drinking wine and having a few nibbles before heading off to The Blackbird. Two birthdays today, Billy is 26, and Max is 27, so we all drank a wee bit too much, danced, laughed, and as I said stayed up too late to celebrate with them. I woke up at 10:50, with a slight ache in the head. I love the atmosphere at The Blackbird, it’s an everything goes kind of place, but in the best way. Pam and Tracie, two of the teachers, were there most of the night, Pam promised me straight tens this week after I bought her a drink… Ha!

Mary took Nicole, Hannah and I into the market yesterday morning bright and early. We bought stuff to make kale soup this afternoon, had a hot chocolate with a pain au chocolate, and then headed back to the school. Hannah and I raced over to the school in our chef’s whites to help with pizza. Phillip is such a great guy, at the end of the afternoon, we cooked staff pizzas, sat in the conservatory, had some wine, and dove into our pizzas. It was interesting to see how the operation works, and lots of fun to be in the kitchens outside of our morning cooking. I shaped my sour dough with Tim yesterday morning as well, and I think we are going to bake it tonight. Sour dough and kale soup for dinner, sounds delicious to me!
